Commissioning
At InfraXtructure™, we offer a comprehensive suite of commissioning services for data centers to ensure all systems are installed, tested, and operate according to design specifications. Our services cover the entire commissioning process, from initial planning to final facility certification, providing a structured approach that guarantees reliability, efficiency, and performance.
Data Center Commissioning Scope
Our commissioning process follows a rigorous, multi-level approach to ensure that all data center systems are properly tested and validated. The commissioning scope includes:
Level 1: Factory Witness Testing
In this initial phase, we verify the performance of equipment at the factory before it is delivered to the site. This includes testing critical components such as generators, uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), chillers, and other major systems to ensure they meet the required specifications.
Level 2: Site Acceptance Testing (SAT)
Upon delivery to the site, we conduct Site Acceptance Testing to ensure all equipment has been shipped and installed correctly. This phase includes checking for any damages during transit, verifying installation as per design specifications, and ensuring all equipment is ready for further testing.

Level 3: Pre-Functional Testing (PFT)
During Pre-Functional Testing, we focus on verifying that all individual systems (e.g., electrical, mechanical, and plumbing) are installed and functioning correctly on their own. This includes calibrating equipment, setting up controls, and verifying safety features before systems are integrated.
Level 4: Functional Performance Testing (FPT)
At this level, we test the integrated operation of all systems to ensure they work together as designed. This includes simulating different operating conditions and scenarios to verify that systems perform as required under normal, emergency, and maintenance modes.
Level 5: Integrated System Testing (IST)
Integrated System Testing is the final phase of commissioning, where we validate the complete data center infrastructure under real-world conditions. This includes comprehensive testing of all interconnected systems to ensure they operate seamlessly as a unified facility, verifying the reliability and resilience of the data center.
Commissioning Plan
Our commissioning plan provides a detailed roadmap for each level of the commissioning process, outlining the scope, procedures, and criteria for success at every stage:

Development of Commissioning Objectives: We define clear objectives for each level of commissioning, aligned with the project’s Owner Project Requirements (OPR) and design specifications.
Detailed Testing Procedures: Our plan includes step-by-step procedures for each test, specifying the methods, tools, and criteria for evaluating performance and compliance.
Roles and Responsibilities: We outline the roles and responsibilities of all stakeholders involved in the commissioning process, including contractors, vendors, and commissioning agents, to ensure clear communication and accountability.
Schedule and Milestones: The commissioning plan includes a detailed schedule with key milestones for each phase, ensuring a structured and efficient process that aligns with the overall project timeline.
Documentation and Reporting: We establish guidelines for documentation and reporting at each level, including test results, observations, and corrective actions, providing a clear record of all commissioning activities.
Commissioning Supervision
Effective supervision is crucial to a successful commissioning process. Our team provides on-site supervision to oversee all commissioning activities, ensuring they are conducted according to plan and meet all required standards:
Coordination and Oversight: We coordinate all commissioning activities, managing multiple teams and ensuring that tests are performed sequentially and without interference, maintaining project integrity and schedule.
Quality Assurance: Our supervisors enforce rigorous quality control measures, ensuring all testing is performed accurately and any issues are promptly addressed and resolved.
Real-Time Problem Solving: We provide immediate support for troubleshooting and resolving any issues that arise during testing, minimizing delays and ensuring smooth progression through each commissioning level.

Integrated System Testing (IST)
Integrated System Testing is the pinnacle of the commissioning process, where all systems are tested together under operational conditions to verify their collective performance and reliability:

Comprehensive Scenario Testing: We simulate various operational scenarios, including normal operations, power failures, fire alarms, and other emergency conditions, to ensure all systems respond appropriately and maintain data center integrity.
Load Testing and Failover Scenarios: Our team conducts load testing to verify the data center’s capacity and performance under different loads, including failover scenarios to ensure uninterrupted operation in case of equipment failure.
Data Collection and Analysis: During IST, we collect extensive data on system performance, identifying any discrepancies or areas for improvement to ensure optimal functionality and reliability.
